This is what happens when an image is added via the image URL field. --- This article also has the 'highlight article' box checked. So it will appear in the special 'Highlighted News' view.
As you can see, the image will not appear in the article detail or certain views that are designed to be especially small. It will appear in the non-admin side, in the larger lists of article titles and summaries, such as [ this ]. From the admin side, add or edit article area, you can preview the image by clicking on the icon.
We try to please the majority when building our applications. However, you get the source code, and can be modified to produce almost any view you'd like, and we're always glad to help. In fact we really like to see what our clients are doing with their application, many times we even implement these ideas into the next version release - so your customizations will survive your free future upgrade. (As you can see, images can be pasted into the article text too! The size of the image within the article will be the same as what was uploaded.)
For quick image uploading while adding or editing an article: Click on the icon, then on the [ Select Image ] link above the text editor. You can select an already uploaded image from here, upload a new image from your PC, preview it, even paste the URL in all from this utility. The [Select Image ] utility can also be used in a similar fashion for the Article Image field.

A sample template has been applied to this article, the columns have been defined under Templates.
Templates are used as something you can apply to an article while writing it, for example your company can have a standard layout where you have a column on the right with today's date, that can be applied to the article content. Yesterday, Robert Iger, the longtime president at Disney, was named to succeed Michael Eisner as CEO, raising many a waxed eyebrow in Los Angeles and New York and a giant collective shrug elsewhere. And today, the Wall Street Journal reported that AIG CEO Hank Greenberg is going to resign and be replaced at the company by co-chief operating officer Martin Sullivan, a 34-year company veteran. All of a sudden, No. 2 is No. 1. Is that good news for Disney and AIG shareholders? Iger's ascension will provide new fodder for countless Vanity Fair articles in the coming years. Can an executive who has spent years being browbeaten by the bully Eisner and forced to sublimate his own ego suddenly blossom into a brilliant CEO? Will he be Tom Brady, the overlooked New England Patriots backup who became a star when the starting quarterback was struck down with an injury? Or will he be Al Gore, who, after eight years in the shadow of a charismatic No. 1, couldn't score? | Today is: March 15th 2005 |
